Half-Life Deathmatch servers, crossfire forever

The deathmatch of 1998, alive and dust-free: two dedicated servers, including a 24/7 crossfire.

Half-Life invented modern deathmatch, and we refuse to let it die. We host two dedicated 16-slot servers: "Cult classics", rotating through eight legendary maps (crossfire, boot_camp, bounce, undertow, stalkyard, snark_pit, subtransit and lambda_bunker), and "Crossfire 24/7", true to the single-map server tradition: crossfire forever, with the bunker alarm always ringing at the worst possible moment.

Nearly thirty years later the crowbar has not changed; the server is what makes the difference. Ours are maintained, backed up and monitored like every server on the network, because a classic deserves better than a forgotten machine in a garage. Live stats are right on this page: bring two friends and repopulate crossfire.

Frequently asked questions

Why two Half-Life Deathmatch servers?

"Cult classics" rotates through eight legendary maps to keep things fresh; "Crossfire 24/7" stays on THE map, like the legendary servers of the era. Two moods, 16 slots each, and you can hop between them anytime.

What do I need to play?

Half-Life (the 1998 original) on Steam, which costs a few euros and goes on sale regularly. Multiplayer is included: launch the game, head to Multiplayer, and see you in there.

Are the servers faithful to the original game?

Yes: classic settings, no mods, original damage and movement. The server engine is simply hardened against the known exploits of its age, without touching the gameplay.

Does anyone still play Half-Life Deathmatch?

The community is small but loyal, and these servers exist precisely for it. The live stats on this page show you who is online before you even launch the game. If it is empty, bring your group: four-player crossfire is still a memorable evening.

Is the server protected against cheating?

Yes, VAC is enforced on both servers and everything is logged. Network rules apply, and the crew acts on precise reports.
