Left 4 Dead server, the original campaigns in co-op
No Mercy, 2008, four survivors on the Mercy Hospital rooftop: the first Left 4 Dead, co-op like the first night.
Our Left 4 Dead server hosts the original campaigns in 4-player co-op: No Mercy, Death Toll, Dead Air and Blood Harvest. The original Director, the 2008 hordes, and that mood L4D2 never quite recaptured.
The first L4D remains many people's favourite: darker, slower, tenser. The server boots on No Mercy and chains campaigns natively. Like our L4D2 server it runs on an anonymous account, the normal state for this build, and shows up in the in-game server browser.

Which campaigns run on the server?
The four originals: No Mercy, Death Toll, Dead Air and Blood Harvest. The server boots on No Mercy and campaigns chain natively, chapter after chapter.
What do I need to play?
Left 4 Dead (the first one) on Steam. No sign-up on our side: connect and play.
Why only 4 players?
That is the game's format: four survivors, not one more. It is exactly what keeps every run tense, everyone counts. If there is demand for 8-player versus, we can spin up a second instance.
How is it different from our L4D2 server?
L4D1 is the original 2008 mood: darker, no melee weapons, a heavier pace. The team hosts both, so you switch generations without switching crews.
Is the server protected against cheaters?
Yes, VAC is on: a banned account cannot connect. The server keeps full logs and the crew acts on precise reports (name, time, context).
